The ski resort fits largely into the category of deep not steep. The right hand side of the resort (lookers’ right) has wide mellow runs, whilst the left hand side of the ski area has one black run that hits a maximum gradient of 30 degrees only.
The 100 meter wide slopes make an enjoyable and safe run for beginners
Off piste riding is officially not permitted. Most of the off-piste areas are roped off and have those scary signs with the skull and cross-bones on them. However the patrollers turn a blind eye to riders venturing off-piste and the signs just seem to indicate an ideal spot to duck the rope!
Some or all parts are © of
Large scale slopes, and a 3.6km long runway!

The 100 meter wide slopes make an enjoyable and safe run for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. There is a 30 degree downhill course fit for advanced skiers and riders, as well as courses fit for all levels of skill.

Mini snowmobiles, mini ATVs and other winter fun awaits you in the Snow Land, while there is plenty of fun for beginners and children in the Snow Park! If you use the Shuttle that connects Kokusai to Kiroro Resort you can get the most out of both ski resorts!!

After ski..well, the most obvious choice is enjoying a hot spring bath in Jozankei. If you are staying inside of downtown Sapporo there is Hokkaido's most famous spot, Susukino, where the neon signs invite all who wander near.

There are over 20 hot spring inns located in the Jozankei Spa area. If you stay in downtown Sapporo, we recommend that you stay near Sapporo Station where you can easily access a local bus that will take you to the ski area.

The skiing on Mathiews West , on Friday , December 23 was tough going for most skeriis. The snow is very good but the trail is hard to ski on , as it has not been groomed. For people who do not like hills, I would not go on at present as you cannot snowplow down the hills on the run. Mathews East is good because a snowmobile has gone around it. It is too bad none of the trails have been groomed because the snow is good, it was not melting on Friday and the temperature was 3-4 degrees. I think I would stick to snow shoeing until the trails are groomed, if you have snowshoes.
