Borovets, the first and most famous Bulgarian mountain resort, is situated on the northern slopes of the Rila Mountain at an altitude of 1300 meters. The resort enjoys a perfect location right at the foot of Mount Musala (2925 m), the highest peak on the Balkans. Only 72 km away from Sofia and just 126 km away from Plovdiv, Borovets is easily accessible from all parts of Bulgaria.

Stunning snow scenery, sun and of course a great variety of ski runs – 24 tracks with a total length of 58 km. The ski runs offer various degrees of difficulty levels and traffic intensity and are suitable for beginners as well as for advanced and expert skiers.

The ski runs are grouped in 3 regions: Sitnyakovo–Martinovi Baraki, Markudzhik and Yastrebets. Borovest has hosted twice competitions from the Alpine skiing World Cup. After the day is over, the resort continues to be just as busy and full of bustling life thanks to the conditions provided for night skiing and the numerous cozy taverns and bars. Borovets is a challenging and favorite place for snowboarders to whom the resort offers terrains of various difficulty levels. The resort has also prepared many unique adventures which will enthrall all guests and will have them reach the “boiling point” of excitement despite the cold temperatures around.

Borovets is the oldest Bulgarian winter resort with a history that dates back to 1896. Today Borovets is the biggest skiing center in the country in terms of length and capacity of ski runs and lifts. It is situated on the northern slopes of the Musala ridge in the eastern part of Rila mountain. Huddled in venerable pine woods over 1300m above sea level it is the perfect place for winter sports and recreation.The winter in the resort is mild and snowy.
